One of the common ways is using the wearable press button. This allows the person who had fall down to press the button to call for help. However, this system does not help if the person faints instantly.
...........
This paper proposed to use thermal camera as a faint detection device which a simple faint detection algorithm that embedded into a cost effective thermal imaging surveillance system.
...........
For experimental purpose, we have captured about 50000 sample images to test the accuracy of our faint detection algorithm. At the site, we have captured different poses of human such as bending, standing, walking, fainting, scrambling and lying down.
............
The whole routine time for our algorithm including the time for capture image and signal alarm is 4 frames per second. Thus we set F=40 so that if the person lies on same place with same size for 10 second, the system will judge the person as fainting.
