The state of the art of test tools for web applications is still dominated by static approaches, focussing on a posteriori structure reconstruction and interpretation rather than on functional aspects directly related to the applications design.

논문은 기존의 Test tool들이 functional feature 보다는 일종의 비기능적 테스트(?)에 국한되었다고 지적한다. 논문에서 제시하는 모델은 기존의 test tool을 그대로 활용할 수 있겠으나 functional feature에 대한 test case작성 및 수행을 지원하는 또다른 system(?)이 존재한다. 이를 'test coordinator'라고 정의한다.
